Curses!

So tonight I went up to Hayward with two friends for a rehearsal. Ironically, I decided last minute to go up with them. Originally, my plan was to save the drive and just take care of things on the home front. After the rehearsal, we were starving so we stopped into Union Landing and decided to eat at Chevy's.

Big mistake.

We finished dinner and got back in my friends' car. I noticed stuff on the back seat next to me. Broken glass. My body kicked into high gear while telling my friends someone had broken into the car. I immediately went to open the trunk door (it's a Nissan Rogue)to find all three bags gone. Whoever it was made quite an effort since the glass is dark tint and none of the bags were computer bags. They wouldn't know what was in them. Hell, they wouldn't know anything was back there unless they got right up to the car.

But they made off with a jackpot. Plenty of technology like laptops and earphones. My friends left credit cards in their bags (I know, not smart). And the bastard burglars stole my ipod!! They can't resell it since it has a protective skin on it and it actually has my name etched into it. They'd have to keep it I think. If that's the case, if I ever find that person, they're getting a swift kick in the nuts.

My friends had to jump on their phones to cancel all their cards, put warning flags on their accounts and SSN, then call their insurance agency. What a lousy turn of the night. Oddly enough, before we ended up at Chevy's I was thinking some Asian food sounded good. Had I stuck with that idea maybe we would still have our bags and the car would be in one piece. The actual material things aren't even a big deal really. They can be replaced and are covered by insurance. But think about everything that is stored on your computer. YIKES.

So whoever stole our stuff tonight, just know that we curse you with bad karma and may appendages shrivel up and fall off of your body. The sad thing is that we called the police department and the dispatcher originally said they would have someone come look at it. But a half hour later, she said that wouldn't happen because they'd just received a call about assault with a deadly weapon elsewhere. What is WRONG with people??
